What's Invisalign® and Why Should You Choose it?

Invisalign® uses a series of clear, comfortable and removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth without metal or brittle ceramic. Metal braces can cut your mouth during physical activity and act as a receptacle for food particles during and after meal time.

If you want to know if Invisalign® is right for you, make an appointment with us today for an evaluation. Your dentist will discuss with you the possibilities of using clear aligners and any other cosmetic dentistry services you would like to talk about.

Keep your confidence as you straighten your teeth

Invisalign® is virtually transparent. Most people won't even know you're wearing Invisalign trays unless you tell them! Unlike traditional braces that require regular maintenance with wires and rubber bands, Invisalign® trays can be easily removed so you can eat, drink, and brush and floss as normal.

Invisalign® can be used to treat crowded and crooked teeth, gapped teeth, overbites, underbites and open bites. It's important to remember that you must wear the trays for 22 hours a day, so self-discipline is key. The aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, BPA-free clear plastic and fit over your teeth smoothly and discreetly. Your specialist will use X-rays, pictures, and impressions to create a 3D image of your teeth and prepare your trays.

How much does Invisalign cost in Wisconsin?

In Wisconsin, the average cost of Invisalign® treatment ranges from $4,300 to $6,800, but if you only need minor correction, treatment can start from as low as $3,000. The cost factors include the complexity of your case, how long your treatment will take and your orthodontic insurance coverage.

How do Invisalign trays straighten your teeth?

Over the course of treatment, you will be supplied with a series of aligners. Each aligner will make slight adjustments to tooth positions, a process that is mapped out in advance by your doctor, specifically for your teeth and desired end result.

My dentist mentioned “attachments”. What are those?

Depending on your specific situation, some or all stages of your treatment may require these “attachments” or “ridges” to help the aligner grip the teeth. Your doctor will use these features to attempt the desired tooth movement.

Will Invisalign treatment be painful?

While less painful and anxiety-ridden than traditional metal braces, some people do experience temporary discomfort in the form of pressure at the beginning of each new stage. This is a sign that the correction process is working and typically goes away after a couple of days.

Will wearing Invisalign affect my speech?

Aligner trays may temporarily affect your speech. This is simply an adjustment process as your tongue gets used to having aligners in your mouth, and will then disappear.

Are there food restrictions while using Invisalign?

No. Unlike braces, you can eat whatever you like with Invisalign because the trays must be removed to eat or drink anything besides water. So grab the popcorn during a movie, just make sure you brush your teeth and clean your trays after each meal.

Can I drink alcohol with the aligners in?

Alcohol has high sugar content. A moderate amount is fine to consume, as long as you take care to clean the teeth and aligners soon after so the sugar doesn’t stay trapped in the trays and become plaque. The same applies to any sugary beverage like soda or sweetened tea.
