Periodontal Therapy
Periodontal disease, more commonly known as gum disease, is the inflammatory process of the gums. Therapy such as deep cleanings, medications, or surgery can reduce the effects of periodontal disease.
Periodontal Treatment
Periodontal disease can be prevented with regular preventative care, but often requires more advanced forms of treatment. Deep cleaning can reduce inflammation, and regular cleanings can help prevent periodontal disease from worsening. Antibiotics can also be applied below the gum line to target the disease. Surgical options are also available. Surgery can reduce the size of pockets where periodontal disease grows, gum tissue and bone tissue can be grafted in or even replaced.
